Questions and answers

Short, straight answers about ZiroTV: what it is and what it is not, the devices it runs on, Xtream Codes and M3U playlists, the free trial and the plans, and whether an IPTV player is legal to use.

What ZiroTV is, and what it is not

What is ZiroTV?

ZiroTV is an IPTV player for Fire TV, Google TV, Android TV and Android phones. Add the Xtream Codes login or M3U link from a TV service you already use, and ZiroTV turns it into live TV with a full TV guide, plus films and series from an Xtream Codes login. BITVIRE, a software company in the Netherlands, makes it.

Does ZiroTV include channels?

No. ZiroTV is a media player for playlists you provide. It does not include, host, sell or supply any television channels, films or other content, and it has no affiliation with any content provider. You are responsible for the legality of the streams you add.

Is ZiroTV legal?

Yes. ZiroTV is a media player, in the same way VLC is. It comes with no channels, links or add-ons, and we do not sell or recommend any source. Whether a stream is legal depends on where it comes from, so use a provider that has the rights to what it offers. You are responsible for what you add.

In the EU, the Court of Justice drew the line in the Filmspeler case (C-527/15, 26 April 2017). Selling a media player loaded in advance with links to unlicensed streams infringes copyright, and knowingly watching unlicensed streams is not covered by the exception for temporary copies. ZiroTV is sold as a player only. We cannot advise on the law in your country. Read the judgment on EUR-Lex.

What do I need to start?

A Fire TV, a Google TV or Android TV device, or an Android phone. You also need the Xtream Codes login (server, username and password) or the M3U link from your provider, and its EPG link if it gives you one. How to download ZiroTV.

Where do I get a playlist?

From the TV service you use, usually in its welcome email or in your account with it. ZiroTV does not sell, recommend or link to playlists or services, and we cannot help you find one. Xtream Codes and M3U, explained.

Do you work with or recommend providers?

No. We have no deals with any provider, take no commission and recommend none. ZiroTV works the same with any standard Xtream Codes login or M3U link. A provider that claims a partnership with ZiroTV does not have one.

Devices

Which devices does it run on?

Fire TV devices on Fire OS 6 or newer, Google TV and Android TV on Android 7.0 or newer, and Android phones and tablets on Android 7.0 or newer. That covers the Fire TV Stick 4K and 4K Max, the Fire TV Cube, the Google TV Streamer, Chromecast with Google TV, NVIDIA SHIELD TV, and TVs and boxes that run Google TV or Android TV.

Does ZiroTV work on a Firestick?

Yes, on Fire TV Sticks with Fire OS 6 or newer, such as the Fire TV Stick 4K and 4K Max, and on the Fire TV Cube. You install it once with the free Downloader app, and it updates from inside the app after that. ZiroTV on Fire TV.

Does it work on the Fire TV Stick 4K Select?

No. The Fire TV Stick 4K Select and the 2026 Fire TV Stick HD run Vega OS, which only installs apps from the Amazon Appstore. Under Settings > My Fire TV > About, a software version that starts with “1.” means Vega OS. Check your Fire TV.

Does it work on a Chromecast with Google TV?

Does ZiroTV work on a Samsung, LG, Roku or Apple TV?

Not directly. Those TVs and boxes run their own systems, and ZiroTV is an Android app. The simple route is a Fire TV or Google TV stick in a spare HDMI port: it brings its own remote, and ZiroTV runs on it as designed. ZiroTV on Fire TV.

Is there an iPhone or iPad app?

Not at the moment. ZiroTV runs on Fire TV, Google TV, Android TV and Android phones, and on Android tablets. There is no app for iPhone, iPad or Apple TV.

Does it work on Windows or a Mac?

No. There is no version for Windows, macOS or a web browser. To watch on a big screen, a Fire TV or Google TV stick in the TV’s HDMI port is the simplest route.

Playlists and the guide

Xtream Codes or M3U: which should I use?

The Xtream Codes login, if your provider gives you one. It brings live channels, films, series, catch-up and the TV guide in one go. An M3U link brings the live channel list, and its guide needs a separate EPG link. Xtream Codes vs M3U, side by side.

Does ZiroTV support Stalker or MAG portals?

No. ZiroTV takes Xtream Codes logins and M3U links only, so a portal address tied to a MAC address cannot be added. Many providers offer an Xtream Codes login for the same service, so ask yours before you install.

How do I add a TV guide (EPG)?

With an Xtream Codes login, the guide arrives by itself. With an M3U link, paste your provider’s EPG link into EPG / TV guide URL when you add the playlist. ZiroTV then matches programmes to channels by ID, and by name where IDs are missing. How the TV guide works.

Why is my guide empty?

Usually because an M3U playlist has no EPG link, the link has expired, or the guide’s channel IDs and names match none of yours. A big guide can also take a minute to arrive after a sync. Work through the empty-guide checklist.

Can I use more than one playlist?

Yes. Add several and switch between them, or turn on Combine all playlists in Settings for one channel list and one guide. A channel that is in two playlists then shows once, and falls back to the other stream when one fails.

Does catch-up work on every channel?

No, only on channels your provider archives, and as far back as it keeps them. Those channels carry a clock in ZiroTV’s channel list. Catch-up needs an Xtream Codes login and works in the TV app. Catch-up and live rewind, explained.

Free trial and plans

How does the free trial work?

Every screen gets 7 days with every feature unlocked, starting the first time the app opens on it. Reinstalling the app does not start the trial again, and nothing is charged unless you buy a plan.

Do I need a card or an account to try it?

No. Install the app, add your playlist and watch. You create an account at app.zirotv.com only when you choose a plan, and payment details go only to Mollie, at checkout.

What happens when the free trial ends?

ZiroTV shows a code. Scan it with your phone, choose a plan at app.zirotv.com and pay with Mollie: the screen unlocks as soon as the payment goes through. Already have a plan? Sign in on that screen instead. Nothing is charged automatically, because the trial never asked for a card.

How many screens can I use?

Every plan covers two screens on your account, TVs or phones. A phone you sign in on uses one, just like a TV. Every plan includes every feature, so plans differ only in how often you pay.

Can I add more screens?

Not from your account yet. If two screens are not enough, contact us. To move a screen to another device, remove the old one in your account at app.zirotv.com, or choose Log out under Settings > Account & cloud sync on it.

Which payment methods can I use?

You pay at app.zirotv.com through Mollie, a Dutch payment provider, which shows the methods for your country before you pay. Monthly and yearly plans need a method that allows repeat payments. You never enter payment details on your TV.

Are prices including VAT?

Yes. Prices on this site are in euros and include VAT, so €4.99 a month, €9.99 a year or €24.99 once is what you pay. See the plans.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time, in your account at app.zirotv.com. After that nothing more is charged, and ZiroTV keeps working until the end of the period you paid for. A lifetime plan never renews, so there is nothing to cancel.

Can I get a refund?

You have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase. If you ask for immediate access at checkout (which you have to, to start watching straight away), you give that right up for the part already delivered, and we confirm that in your purchase email. That is why the 7-day trial exists: try everything first, pay after. The refund policy explains how to withdraw, and the payments we refund whenever they happen.

Account and privacy

Do I need an account?

Not to try ZiroTV. To keep using it after the trial, yes: a plan belongs to an account at app.zirotv.com, not to one TV. The account also keeps your playlists in sync between your screens.

What do you store about me?

For the trial: a random code the app makes when it is installed, the device code and a hash of the pairing key it shows, the type of device, when the trial started and ends, and when the device was last in touch. Nothing that identifies the device itself. With an account, also your email address, your name if you give it, your screens, your plan and payments, and the playlists you sync. Card and bank details stay with Mollie. Privacy policy.

Are my playlist logins safe?

They stay on your device. A playlist you sync is stored encrypted on our server and sent only to your own screens. One you type on your phone for your TV is stored encrypted until the TV collects it, and deleted then, or within 24 hours if no TV does. Our server never connects to your provider: your TV or phone does that itself.

How do I delete my account?

Sign in at app.zirotv.com, choose Delete account and confirm with your password. You can also email support@zirotv.com from the address on your account. Deleting it cancels running payments, removes your synced playlists and signs your screens out. Payment records are kept for seven years, as tax law requires, no longer linked to you. An App Store subscription keeps renewing until you cancel it with Apple.

When something goes wrong

The app will not install. What now?

Check that the device runs Fire OS 6 or Android 7.0 or newer, has a few hundred MB free, and lets the app that opened the file install unknown apps. Then download the file again: a cut-off download will not install. Fixes for Fire TV and for Google TV.

Play Protect says it does not recognise the app. What do I do?

Why is an update refused?

Android refuses an update that is older than the installed version or signed by someone else. Update with Check for updates in Settings, or download ZiroTV from this site, and uninstall a copy from elsewhere first. More install fixes.

Channels buffer or will not play. What can I do?

Most playback problems come from the provider or the network. Try the channel on another device, restart the router and the TV, and use a cable or 5 GHz Wi-Fi if you can. If only some channels fail, the provider’s streams are the likely cause. Hide dead channels in Settings keeps those out of your list.

How do I contact support?

Email support@zirotv.com with your device, the ZiroTV version shown in Settings and what you see. We help with installing, playlists and plans, but cannot fix your provider’s streams. Contact details.
